Illustrator. 2D Designer. Monster Hunter.

Cayla is a passionate storyteller and an experienced illustrator, with three collaborative published books to date. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in Studio Arts from Eastern Michigan University in 2022. For her MFA thesis project, she created a full color book titled “The Night Room,” with illustrations that combine watercolor, cut paper, photography and 3D set design. Cayla's latest illustrated work, "The World in My Pocket" by Ben Page, was picked up by Barnes & Noble in 2024. Cayla's art often centers around real and imagined ecological-human relationships. She is interested in how societies and individuals create meaning and connect to place through the integration of mythology, science, psychology and ecology. When not in her studio (or outside) Cayla currently works as an in-house graphic designer, assistant merchandiser and editorial fashion photographer for an amazing local company.
